(Cinet)- According to some information from Hue Festival Center, 36 art troupes from 26 countries and territories have registered to participate in Hue Festival 2014.
The 2014 festival, themed “Cultural Heritage with Integration and Development” will take place from April 12-20, 2014, including some international and domestic arts programs. It is a cultural event to mark the National Tourism Year in the North-Central Midland region by Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The organizing board has ensured the 2014 umbrella event will continue popular traditions such as the royal festival, Ao Dai (traditional long dress) festival, roadshows, and folk festivals.
The 8th Hue Festival is an exchange program among some cultural areas in the world and gathers some typical arts programs, introducing arts of royal court music and some folk songs of Hue; some traditional and temporary arts in some nations in some stages in Thua Thien Hue.
The organizing board has ensured the 2014 umbrella event will continue popular traditions such as the royal festival, Ao Dai (traditional long dress) festival, roadshows, and folk festivals. The Ao Dai show will celebrate the 115th anniversary of Truong Tien Bridge and Dong Ba Market - the two iconic symbols of Hue - with an integrated fine arts and contemporary dance program linked to the Huong (Perfume) River.
More than 300 media workers have registered to cover the event. There will be 17 official information sponsors, including Vietnam Television (VTV), Voice of Vietnam (VOV), and Vietnam News Agency (VNA).
