Huong Pagoda Festival is a Buddhist festival held annually and lasts three months, from the 6th day of Lunar New Year to the 6th day of the third lunar month in the year. But, the official days of the festival is only from 15th to 20th day of the second lunar month.

Going to Huong Pagoda is a spiritual journey into Buddhist Land – where the Goddess of Mercy leads a religious life. Sightseeing trips to pagodas, temples and caves are the main activities at the Huong Pagoda Festival, in addition to ceremonies, rituals and offerings in the hope of a prosperous and healthy year.

The organising board estimated that about 180,000 tourists have flocked to Huong Pagoda over the past four days.

In the capital city’s Me Linh District, Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan attended a ceremony to mark the 1,974 anniversary of Trung Sisters’ Uprising and open the Trung Sisters’ Temple Festival 2014.

According to Nguyen Van Hau, deputy head of the district’s People’s Committee, despite the organizer’s tremendous efforts to handle the situation, including opening another entrance and improving traffic control, the total of more than 4,000 visitors a day has proved overwhelming.
