(Cinet)- The Bac Ninh Festival 2014 opened to highlight the national cultural identity and local historical relics on the way for development and integration on March 15 under the theme “Magnanimity of Kinh Bac – Bac Ninh” .
Addressing at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Nhan Chien, a president of Bac Ninh Provincial People’s Committee showed that Bac Ninh Festival 2014 is a cultural event to honour some traditional values of Bac Ninh-Kinh Bac in maintaining and developing some cultural heritages for socio-economy development in the province.
At the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam also handed over certificates recognizing Dau and But Thap Pagodas in Thuan Thanh district, Bac Ninh province as special national relics. Also, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said that the festival will raise the cultural and historical values of the province while promoting the preservation of historical relics. Two local pagodas were conferred with a certificate of national special relic recognition. The festival takes place every 4 years since the Quan Ho folk singing was recognized by the UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
Bac Ninh Festivla 2014 takes on March 13-20 with many activities of culture, sports and tourism. Bac Ninh Festival 2014 enhances to introduce some tourism potentialities in the province to develop Bac Ninh more.
