Bac Ninh: Tam Tao village festival

(Cinet) - Tam Tao village festival belongs to Phu Lam commune, Tien Du district – a village having a long history of Kinh Bac – Bac Ninh. Tam Tao people are not only proud of its long history but this place also keeps the memory about the famous people under Ly dynasty – benefactors of Ly Cong Uan, the king of starting golden and glorious dynasty of the nation. Tam Dao village festival is opened on 10 February lunar calendar yearly to commemorate the birthday of Mr and Ms Tran Quy, the benefactor of Ly Cong Uan king. This is the biggest festival in the year of Tam Dao people.

The document says clearly about the husband and wife Tran Quy who protected Ly Cong Uan from the pursuing and capturing of mandarins and troops of Le dynasty. Ly Cong Uan is the mandarin under pre Le dynasty, on the occasion of Pre Le degradation, and people make complaints, makes a pipe laying to create the Ly dynasty. in this military coup, Ly Cong Uan lost the battle to move to Kinh Bac, to Tam Dao, and was saved by Mr. Tran Quy and his wife Dang Thi Phuong Dung. After becoming a king, Ly Cong Uan conferred the title of Phu Quoc Tan Tri, Ve Duc Bao Quoc on Mr. Tran Quy, and the title of queen mother on Ms. Dang Thi Phuong Dung.

 

After Mr and Mrs Tran Quy died, Tam Dao people made a worshipping temple in the area that they lived, called country protected temple, or helping country temple. Temple has a big scale, the place where the king often come to visit to sacrifice to show the institute. The next dynasties often restore, therefore, the Protected country temple is still kept until now. The village festival tales place on 10 March which is held carefully in a large scale, which office lasts in 3 days with the ritual of sacrifice, parades which are solemn.
