A water puppetry theatre opens in Central Thua Thien Hue province

The opening ceremony and an art performance to mark the opening of Hue city’s water puppetry theatre has just taken place in the central city.

The theatre has grown from a water puppetry club that was established in July, 2004 under the Thua Thien Hue Culture and Information Center.
Apart from its cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO, the opening of the Hue ancient capital water puppetry theatre is indispensable to meet the cultural enjoyment of local people as well as tourists visiting Hue.
Nguyen Phi Tuan, who is responsible for the theatre, said that there will be art performances on every Sunday morning at the theatre for children to enjoy and study the cultural beauty of one of the county’s traditional arts.
On the occasion, the central water puppetry theatre presented certificates to 19 artists from the water puppetry theatre that had completed a short-term training course on water puppetry. Source: Netcodo
