MCST: Dien Bien Provincial People’s Committee is allowed to build a Memorial and a Commemorative House

(Cinet)- Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued the Official Document No. 876/BVHTTDL-DSVH dated 18th March 2008 sent to Dien Bien Provincial People’s Committee.

In the Official Document, the Ministry approves the Provincial People’s Committee’s recommendation on building the Army Memorial associated with heroic images of artillerymen in Dien Bien Phu campaign at a new position (the first point of the historical artillery-pulling route) and founding the Commemorative House at the dead place of the martyr To Vinh Dien (the last point of the historical artillery-pulling route).

Nevertheless, the Ministry also suggests the Provincial People’s Committee should direct the investor to complete necessary procedures related to changing the construction position of the Memorial, and at the same time, send design dossiers to the Ministry (officially authorizing Department of cultural Heritage for design appraisal) for appraisal and then the Ministry will give its own ideas before implementing the construction work; give a priority to restoring and upgrading the relic of the artillery-pulling route. To building the Memorial leveling topography at a maximum rate must be controlled to protect natural landscape but not to affect the original elements of the relic.
