The Contemporary Dance Competition 2007, sponsored by the Danish Cultural Exchange and Development Fund, commencing in April 2007, aims to look for young talented choreographers and promote contemporary dance arts in Vietnam.
The competition has so far drawn a large number of young artists. Hundreds of VCDs and DVDs containing artistic works have been sent to the organising board in the past 6 months.
The organising board has been selecting works for the final round. The final round and ceremony to present awards and honour young talented artists will be held at the Hanoi Opera House on November 14.
Each work will be performed for 10-15 minutes. The winner of the “Young Talented Choreographer” award will be given gifts and US $3,000.
All works that are selected and honoured at the final round show will be performed over the following 3 evenings for the public for free and to raise funds for charity.
