Northern Viet Nam’s Cat Ba Island is in the international spotlight with Spain ’s national TV station currently shooting footage of the world-recognised biosphere reserve for a global conference.

The Cat Ba biosphere area is one of six sites to be filmed and screened at an international biosphere reserve conference to be held in Madrid, Spain, during February next year.

Spanish TV sub-editor Monica Secgovia said the filmmakers will stay in Viet Nam until November 9 to film Cat Ba’s landscape, flora and fauna, as well as park rangers and public involved in protecting the site.

Programmes on tourist promotion and economic development will also be featured in the film.
