(Cinet)- With a theme of "Peace – Propensity – Co-operation and Development", the Ha Long cherry blossom festival 2015 will take place from April 2nd to 5th in Ha Long City in northern Quang Ninh province.

The event will be organized by the Ha Long city People’s Committee in collaboration with Japan’s Wanokai International Culture Association to promote cultural exchange, friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
A diverse range of cultural activities, including exhibitions featuring culture, tourism and cuisine from Vietnam and Japan, film screenings, workshops on health care, education and the environment, and art performances will be held during the festival.
Apart from 500 cherry flower pots on display, the festival highlights various activities, including cultural exchanges, a fair with nearly 100 booths introducing food, tourism and cultural products, and meetings of the two countries’ businesses discussing healthcare, education, environment, agriculture, etc.

On this occasion, children from Japan's north-eastern region that suffered twin disasters of earthquake and tsunami in 2011, will give cherry blossom saplings to local children as thank you gifts for their support during the past four years.
The festival aims to enhance a foreign relationship and friendship cooperation between Vietnam and Japan.
