About Quang Ninh

(Cinet)- Quang Ninh is a large province located along the northeastern coast of Vietnam. The province is home to Hạ Long Bay, a World Heritage Site. The provincial capital is Ha Long.

The province has the shape of an oblique rectangle inclined in a northeast-to-southwest direction. To the west, the province borders an extended forest and mountain region. To the east, it is adjacent to the Gulf of Bac Bo. The province is made up of 22 ethnic groups, but only 6 have a population of over 1,000. These groups live in their own communities, and have their own dialects and particular ethnic features.
Cultural Resource and Tourism resource
Quang Ninh is located in the northeastern part of Vietnam. It shares a 170 km border with China and is surrounded by Lang Son, Bac Giang, Hai Duong, and Haiphong provinces. Several ethnic groups live in this province, although the Kinh, Dao, and Tay are the most numerous.
Quang Ninh has a great resource of various minerals, many of which are of rich deposits and high quality and donnot exist anywhere esle in Vietnam but this province such as coal, kaolin, clay, glass sand, limestone, etc.  Quang Ninh’s tourism resources is considered the best nationwide with lots of historical sites and beauty spots. Especially, Halong bay (in Halong city) was recognized as The World Heritage by UNESCO. Bai Tho Mountain is a limestone mountain formation, which rises to a height of 106 meters, right in the middle of the Hạ Long City. It appears like a visionary giant castle with three towers of the undulating rock.
Two popular temples in the province are the Cua Ong Temple is located on a mountain overlooking low Bai Tu Long Bay, and the Tien Temple located next to the headquarters of People's Committee of Cam La commune.
Bach Dang beach is a historical site which commemorates the 13th century victory of Tran Quoc Tuan over the Mongols who had invaded the country with 30,000 troops.

Festival
Quang Ninh has a long term culture. Ha Long culture recorded in history as an evolutionary landmark of the Vietnamese. Like other localities, Quang Ninh people follow some religion and beliefs such as Buddhism, Christianity, ancestor worship and some other beliefs.
As the rate for decades, arriving on 18 and 19 January each year, the fishermen of the fishing villages on Ha Long Bay and Cat Ba gather at Ba Men Temple to focus on organizing the Ba men temple festival. Ba Men is a small temple located on a relatively wide sandy beaches along the Dau Be islands. This is also where adjoining heritage Halong Bay district to the other party is Cat Ba (Hai Phong).
