Ba Trieu site is a cultural and historical work to commemorate great contribution of Vietnam’s heroine, Trieu Thi Trinh, who raised a rebellion against Ngo invaders in the third century.

This spiritual architectural work has been restored, retaining original features during different historical periods in the same intricate manner as other such relics like Phu Dien communal house.

The Ba Trieu historical relic site is located about 17km north of Thanh Hoa city. The site worships Viet Nam’s heroine Trieu Thi Trinh, who raised a rebellion against Ngo invaders in third century.

The relic site, featuring historic architecture and unique art, preserves cultural treasures — including folk-songs and proverbs — of Thanh Hoa’s local people in particular, and the Vietnamese in general.

In 1979, the Ba Trieu temple and tomb in Trieu Loc commune was recognized as national cultural and historical relic site.In 1996, Phu Dien communal house was recognized as national cultural historical site.

The Ba Trieu temple festival is scheduled to be held from April 9th to 11th (from the 21st day to 23rd day of the second lunar month). The festival, as a part of the 2015 National Tourism Year in Thanh Hoa province, will feature a series of rites and traditional activities.
