(Cinet)- Thanh Hoa is a large province of Central Vietnam. It borders Ninh Binh to the north and Nghe An to the south. It also borders Laos to the west, and the Gulf of Bac Bo (Tonkin) to the east.

Thanh Hoa is located in the gateway connecting the northern and southern parts of the country. It is surrounded by Hoa Binh, Ninh Binh, Nghe An, Laos, and the East Sea. Many ethnic groups live in this area, including the Kinh, Muong, Thai, Hmong, Dao, and Tho.
Cultural Heritage and Tourism
Thanh Hoa is home to 1535 relics of history, culture including 134 relics to rank a national level, 412 relics to rank a provincial level with many famous relics.
Thanh Hoa is comprised of three categories of mountain, plain and mid-land terrains. It's coastline is 102km in length.  Being the dwelling place of the ancient Viets, Thanh Hoa is proud of the glorious Dong Son culture.
Famous sites include Sam Son Resort with smooth beaches, emerald waters, and a view of the Truong Le Mountain. Doc Cuoc Temple is another interesting destination in the area.

About the tourist attractions, the Ho Citadel and Sam Son Beach are the most well-known names. Besides, Ba Trieu Pagoda, Holy Fish Pond and Ben En National Park are also very attractive.The Ho Citadel was built in the 14th century by Ho Quy Ly. This special 600-year-old citadel was made from giant and sophisticated carving stones. In the middle of June, 2012, the Ho Citadel was recognized by the UNESCO as one of the world heritages.The Holy Fish Pond, also known as Cam Luong Fish Cave, is one of the most interesting and special sites in Thanh Hoa with thousands of fishing. Also, Ben En National Park is 36km from the city of Thanh Hoa to the southwest.
Performing Arts
Thanh Hoa province is home to many forms of peforming arts including three cultural heritages such as  Ma River singing.
Thanh Hoa also is famous for local dances and folk singing as well as a procession of Dong Son bronze drums.
