A jar containing 90 kg of ancient coins has been found in Duc Hung commune, Vu Quang district, Central Ha Tinh province.

The coin jar, uncovered by a local man while he was digging for metal scraps, was sold to the Ha Tinh museum.
According to initial study, the coins were buried during the Nguyen-Tay Son dynasty (1796-1801).
Almost all the copper coins are stained. They measure 22-27 mm in diameter and have square whole measuring 0.5mm x 0.7mm.
The museum said that there are eight kinds of Vietnamese coin and three kinds of Chinese coin in the jar, including coins with the Quang Trung dynastic title (1788-1793), Canh Hung (1740-1786), and Canh Thong (1498-1504).
