A lantern, 3.7m in height and 2.4m in diameter, will be auctioned at a charitable music programme on November 15 to raise funds for orphans, disabled children and Agent Orange victims.

Six disabled children from the Thien Duyen centre in Cu Chi district, Ho Chi Minh City spent over 220 days making the lantern, the biggest ever in Vietnam, from 21,100 old buttons and 85,270 metres of parachute fabric.

The Thien Duyen centre, set up by Buddhist monk Thich Chieu Bon in 2003, is now raising 89 orphans and disabled children aged from 7.
