Minister Nguyen Ngoc Thien met Hokkaido’s Governor

(MOCST) - Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien had a meeting with Hokkaido Governor Suzuki Naomichi.
In the meeting, Governor Suzuki Naomichi warmly welcomed Minister Thien to Hokkaido and mentioned about the relations between the Japanese prefecture and Vietnam. He also expressed his desire to enhance the mutual cooperation in the field tourism; at the same time, calling for more support from Vietnam’s MOCST for companies from both Vietnam and Japan in developing travel products.

Minister Thien sent his congratulations on Hokkaido for having such a talented and young Governor. Regarding the Vietnam Festival in Sapporo 2019, Thien showed his gratitude for the support of local authorities and Governor Naomichi. He hoped that the festival will become a frequent event in Sapporo, helping to promote Vietnam’s culture and tourism to Japanese people. Thien also invited Sapporo art troupes to participate in the upcoming Hue Festival, a cultural festival taking place every two years in Hue, Vietnam.
Also in the meeting, the two sides agreed to direct related agencies to prepare a draft Memorandum of Understanding on tourism promotion which soon be signed in a near future.
