(Cinet) - Some artists from Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and Thailand brought some special colors at the ASEAN art festival on the evening of July 18 in Quang Tri.
Deputy Minister Vuong Duy Bien attended the festival. Addressing at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister Vuong Duy Bien affirmed that the art festival fostered solidarity among ASEAN nations including Viet Nam, Laos, Cambodia, Mianmar and Thailand. It was a chance for artists and troupes by development and maintenance of the national traditional cultural values and promoted its arts, land and people to neighbouring countries while creating a venue for regional artists to exchange experience in art creativity.
Co-hosted by the Department of Performing Arts, the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the International Cooperation Department, the Vietnam Dancers’ Association and the Vietnam Composers’ Association, the triennial event is significant to enhance friendship and cooperation among ASEAN member states on July 18-25.
The event attracts nearly 960 artists from 17 domestic and four international troupes will vie for gold and silver medals at the festival. More than 221 brilliant performances will be delivered by artists from Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and Thailand during the art festival.
After the opening ceremony, some troupes can perform and compete some performances to feature some traditional values.
The festival is a continuation of the past events successfully held in Quang Tri, including the Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam art festival, “Trans-Asia road” and Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia music festivals.
The festival will close on July 25. The five best performances will be chosen for public shows to be held in the province during the festival.
