Southeast Asia’s largest 4-D cinema to open in HCMC

The largest four-dimensional cinema in Southeast Asia will have its ribbon cutting ceremony today at the Suoi Tien theme park in Ho Chi Minh City’s Thu Duc District.

Huynh Dong Tuan, deputy general director of the Suoi Tien Co., Ltd. said the US$1.25 million cinema, called Alta 4D Max Suoi Tien, has 120 seats and a presentation system that combines a 3-D screen with physical effects that occur in synchronization with the film.

The effects, such as rain, wind and vibration are created by equipment such as water sprayers and air jets to bring the audiences a more engrossing film experience, said Tuan.

Equipped with modern facilities, such as those able to serve the disabled in accordance with international standards, the cinema was constructed in cooperation of the Alta Company and the Suoi Tien Ltd.

with films and equipment provided by the US SimEx-Iwerks Corp., which have installed more than 300 3-D and 4-D cinemas in 42 countries.
