Viet Nam to attend puppet festival in Myanmar

A 12-strong puppet troupe from the Central Puppet Theatre will leave for Myanmar on January 16 to take part in a traditional arts festival to mark the third ASEAN and ASEAN+3 Cultural Ministers’ Meeting.

During the “Puppetry: the Asian Heritage” festival, the Vietnamese delegation, led by the theatre’s Deputy Director Ngo Thanh Thuy, will give special puppet performances using different techniques such as by sticks or hands.
The festival will also draw the participation of puppet troupes from other ASEAN members and China , the Republic of Korea and Japan.
