(Cinet)- Thien Cam Beach is situated approximately 20 km from Ha Tinh, in Ha Tinh province. The low mountains in proximity to the sea have created a beautiful landscape.
The legend goes Thien Cam (meaning heavenly music instrument) was the name adopted long time ago. The tale says that a King Hung during his royal progress passing the place caught the great mixture of wind blowing from forest and rock caves feeling like natural music performance, then came out the name “Thien Cam”. The other tale says in 1407, Ho Quy Ly hidden in the mountain as being chased by Minh invaders, then he was captured. Consequently, “Thien Cam” somewhat means “Heavenly keeps”, people call it Cum forest.
There is Thien Cam pagoda lying at mid-mountain. There is also a tale saying that it was built in Ly dynasty. The pagoda is located nearby the sea, not large however inaccessible. To the south of the pagoda is Nhuong Ban fishery village, staying famous for hundreds of years. The local residents are not only talented in their fishing offshore but also famous for their making fish sauce and shrimp paste. They have cheo can chanty, a great art combination between folk song melody and folk dance. Thien Cam seawater is always gentle and clear-cut blue. The beach is long and sloping with fine, white sand. Evergreen pine tree woods along the sea play with sea breeze. Tourists not only enjoy bathing in the sea but also seafood dishes such as octopus, shrimps, crabs, etc. processed in the taste of the local people.
