Russian Writers Visit Viet Nam

A delegation of the Russian Writer’s Association (RWA) led by Mr. Oleg Bavukin arrived in Viet Nam yesterday to begin their 10-day official visit to the country at the Viet Nam Writer’s Association (VNWA)’s invitation.

Poet Huu Thinh, President of VNWA, together with writer Thuy Toan, President of the Foreign Literature Council and some other writers and poets met the RWA delegation in Ha Noi yesterday afternoon.

Led by the head of RWA’s International Affairs, the delegation comprises famous writer Viktor Pronin and critic Tachiana Porkhanova.

Viktor Pronin, 70, is a prominent author among literary circles in contemporary Russia. He is famous for a number of detective novels like Accomplices (5 volumes), Hope, Behind the Red Wall, Funeral Services and the Death of a President.

Pronin  has been awarded by the Russian Communist Youth Union and won a number of prizes included the Best Novel of  the Year and the international  “Sherlock Holmes Pipe”.
