The Da Nang Publishing House has released the book Van Hoa E De: Truyen Thong Va Bien Doi (Ede Ethnic Minority Culture: Tradition and Change) by Nguyen Ngoc Hoa, a teacher at the National Administration Academy in the central city of Da Nang.

The book explores the E De ethnic minority group’s cultural heritage as well as the changes that modernity has brought to the social interactions and cultural norms of minorities in the region.

The beginning of the book details how the Ede people, following the Kinh people, settled in the Tay Nguyen (Central Highlands) province of Dak Lak . It discusses their unique cultural features and reveals how socio-economic development, in particular, has profoundly affected Ede culture.

The three-chapter book includes preservation efforts of Ede culture and discusses the difficulties associated with such efforts during a period of rapid industrialisation and globalisation.
