Dragon-Lion Dance to Celebrate Tet Nguyen Tieu

A special celebration to mark Tet Nguyen Tieu (a festival to mark the 15th day of the first lunar month) will gather approximately 500 people to march with the dragon and lion dance band.

According to the District 5 People’s Committee, this special event will last from the 12th day of the first lunar month to the end of the month.
Entertaining activities, including music shows, circus and variety shows, and folk games will take place in venues around Ho Chi Minh City, including Thuan Kieu Plaza, An Dong Plaza and the District 5 Cultural Center, to celebrate this sacred period. 
In addition, spectators will enjoy the longest dragon-lion dance parade ever took take place, with approximately 500 participants. In celebration, the parade will weave around the city from Chau Van Liem – Lao Tu – Luong Nhu Hoc – Nguyen Trai – Ngo Quyen –Tran Xuan Hoa, finishing at the District 5 Cultural Center.  
Recently, Chinese club-houses, namely Tue Thanh, Ong Lang and Nghia An announced their new restrictions concerning limiting the number of incense sticks visitors can bring into the main halls of the pagodas, the dispersion of fortunetellers and the people hired to pray for their employers in the pagodas.
