About Nghe An


(Cinet)- Nghe An is a province in the North Central Coast region of Vietnam. It is a large province in the central part of Vietnam that connects the North to the South. Nghe An shares its border with Thanh Hoa in the north, East Sea in the east, Laos in the west, and Ha Tinh in the south.

With a total area of 16,470 km2 of which 12,000 is forests and mountains, Nghe An deserves the reputation as the biggest province in the North Central Vietnam.

Cultural Heritage
The province is divided into one city (Vinh), two towns (Cua Lo and Thai Hoa), and 17 districts. The province contains 437 communes, the highest in any province in Vietnam. Nghe An is the home province of Phan Boi Chau and Ho Chi Minh.
About cultural heritage, there are 872 relics including 112 relics recognized as national relics; 13 provincial relics and many values of intagible cultural values.
About architecture and arts, many famous relics such as Con temple, Qua temple, Bach Ma temple, Hoanh Son communal house, Trung Can temple and Sung temple.. with 19 relics at national level.
Also, Nghe An is home to 474 historical relics including 89 relics as national ranking and 03 types: cultural and historical relics, revolutionary relics ad famous people-honouring relics.
Typical cultural and historical relics: Cuong temple, Mai Thuc Loan worshipping temple, Bach ma temple, Nguyen Xi worshipping temple, Lam Thanh mountain, Dung Quyet mountain, Vinh ancient citadel..

Performing Arts
Vi and Giam folk songs of Nghe Tinh occupy an important position in the cultural and spiritual life of people of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces (abbreviated as Nghe Tinh). This is a type of art that has long lasting life, imbued character and manner of Nghe Tinh people and is the precious heritage in Vietnamese cultural treasure.
Destination
The Western Nghe An Proposed Biosphere Reserve include Pu Mat National Park and 2 Pu Huong and Pu Hoat Nature Reserves, which are divided between nine administrative mountainous districts of the western Nghe An province following North – South axis. The Proposed Biosphere Reserve includes all Ca River head valley with 3 important effluents: Hieu River, Nam Non River and Nam Mo River. The areas belong to the ecological region of Annamite range. The ecological region of Annamite range stretches away between Viet Nam and Laos’s territory.
