About Lang Son

(Cinet)- Lang Son is a province in northeastern Vietnam and a border of the nation. It offers poetic beauty and grandeur of the mountains and many unique cultural values.
 
Lang Son borders Cao Bang province in the North, Bac Giang province in the South, Guangxi province (China) in the East, Quang Ninh in the South East,  Bac Kan and Thai Nguyen provincies in the South West. The province covers an area of 8.323,8 square kilometres, and its population was 735,6 peoples (according to statistic in 2010).
Cultural Heritage
According to primary statistics of the Management Board Lang Son relics, in the province there are nearly 600 relics accessed by different types including 15 national rangkings. Particularly, Lang Son city has 43 monuments of 4 types, including 4 historic revolutionary heritage, 5 landscapes, 4 archaeological sites, 25 cultural, art, religious relics. There are 21 ranked monuments of which 12 were nationally ranked, 9 in provincial management.
Most of the monuments existing till date are famous monuments, landscapes, buildings which are in great value of sightseeing, researching, studying of the people in Lang Son and in the country.
Performing Arts
Lang Son is the home of many ethnic groups living together. The integration of communities, the mixture of traditions and customs, festivals create folk songs, “then” singing, “sli” singing, “luon” singing.
Particularly, “sli” singing is an unique folk song in the folk treasures of the ethnic Nung in Lang Son. Nung Chao has “Sing village sli”; Nung Phan Slinh owns “Sloong hau sli” (sli repartee between 2 men and 2 women).
“Sing sli” of Nung Phan Slinh shows the responsive ability of each person with the comparative, glomy, smart, implied, meaningful words. During the festivals, markets, wedding days, new home ceremonies... “Sli” singing is in a great significance of integrating many groups who may not know one another.
In old days, many generations of the Nung maintained “Sli singing” in all events on the purpose of showing love when young lovers express their emotions through ardent folk songs.
In each province, there are different types of  Then singing like: “Then” singing in Lang Son, “Then” singing in Tuyen Quang, “Then” singing in Ha Giang, “Then” singing in Bac Can, ect.
Destination
Lang Son which is in the border region and on the convenient route to Hanoi Ciy, which regularly attracts tourists to go sightseeing, exchange, trade between Vietnam and China.
In addition, the nature offers Lang Son caves, mountains and natural landscapes with a cool and pleasant summer so it is regarded as a holiday destination, an ideal resort for tourists. The most famous spots are Heritage area Nhi - Tam Thanh Relic, To Thi Mountain, Home to Mac, Mau Son Mountain Resort, Bac Son Safety Zone, historical vestige of Chi Lang Pass, Thanh Pagoda, Tien pagoda, Ky Cung temple, Bac Le temple, the temple of Mau Dong Dang.
Lang Son also features an unique culinary culture expressed by sour noodle soup, roast duck, khau nhuc (well steamed and spiced pork) Xa Xiu (Barbeque Pork), sausages, five colour sticky rice, steamed rolled rice pancakes, crackers, bamboo sprout soaked with chilli, etc.
