Hà Nội is home to nearly 6,000 historical and cultural relics – the largest number of any locality in Việt Nam, along with thousands of items of intangible cultural heritage and numerous UNESCO-recognised heritage assets.

According to the commune People's Committee, Tú Lệ farmers harvest rice in late August, promising a bustling atmosphere for the festival.

The main procession of Leng Ong Sanh, a key ritual of the 2026 Whale Festival (Le hoi Cau ngu), took place on August 2 at sea, along the Ca Ty River, and through central streets in Phan Thiet ward, Lam Dong province.

Vũ Thế Bình, Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association (VITA), said provinces should strengthen regional cooperation by developing integrated tourism routes linking Hà Nội, Quảng Ninh, Hải Phòng, Ninh Bình and neighbouring localities such as Hưng Yên and Bắc Ninh. Such cooperation would create complementary tourism products instead of isolated competition.

Vietnam is combining community-led preservation with digital technology to safeguard one of the traditional harvest rituals of the Ba Na ethnic minority, reflecting a broader effort to protect intangible cultural heritage while supporting sustainable tourism and cultural development.
