Ho Chi Minh City's rich and varied cultural heritage remains largely untapped, held back by the absence of a unified strategy. As a result, cultural tourism plays a supporting role rather than stepping into the spotlight as the true heartbeat of its urban tourism sector.

The third Vietnam Festival in Osaka is scheduled to take place on March 7-8, featuring Vietnamese and Japanese artists and a wide range of cultural activities aimed at introducing Vietnamese culture to international friends.

HCM City will host the floating flower festival, one of the city’s most-visited attractions in Tết (Lunar New Year), from February 2-15 (or December 15-28 of the lunar calendar) to welcome the Year of the Horse.

During the 2021-2025 period, the tourism sector recorded impressive growth, contributing 6-8% of GDP each year and emerging as a bright spot in Viet Nam’s socio-economic picture. Over the past five years, Viet Nam welcomed nearly 55 million international visitors and served almost 500 million domestic tourists, with total revenue estimated at 3.2 quadrillion VND (121.6 billion USD).

On January 25, Phuc Son Border Guard Post under the Nghe An Border Guard Command coordinated with the Party committee and local authorities of Anh Son Commune, Nghe An Province, to hold the programme “Border Guard Spring – Warming the Hearts of Border Communities” on the occasion of the 2026 Lunar New Year.
