(MOCST) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has agreed with the submission of a dossier on Dong Ho folk paintings to UNESCO to include the art in the list of intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent safeguarding. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism was assigned to sign the dossier as regulated.
Some 100 paintings will be auctioned online at the Viet Art Exchange Facebook from March 23 to 25 to raise funds for the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The art of puppetry is said to reflect people’s knowledge, creativity, and sense of humor. Vietnamese puppetry has been recognized globally in recent years thanks to the contribution of many Vietnamese puppeteers, including People’s Artist Nguyen Tien Dung.
