(Cinet)- Nearly 70 of the latest works by Vietnamese designers Nguyen Cao Bang Tam and Do Trinh Hoai Nam will be presented at a fashion show entitled ‘Time Mark’ at the Daewoo Hotel in Hanoi on November 04.
The fashion show is one of a number of events organised by the Italian Embassy to celebrate the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and Vietnam in 2013.
As a particular highlight of the activities in the framework of the ‘Italy- Vietnam 2012’ initiatives, organised by the Italian Embassy, the event aims to promote the image and culture of Italy in Vietnam, foster mutual understanding between the two countries, and facilitate interaction between cultural institutions, artists and businesses, according to Italian ambassador to Vietnam, Lorenzo Angeloni at a press conference in Hanoi on October 24.
The designs reflect fascinating, elegant, luxurious styles made from familiar materials such as velvet, silk, lace, and cotton dyed in deep colours such as black and brown, the current trend in world fashion.
The fashion show introduced the ‘Mona Lisa’ collection by designer Do Trinh Hoai Nam and ‘Timeline’ by designer Nguyen Cao Bang Tam, which were inspired by architecture, painting and music from both Vietnam and Italy.
The masterpiece of world famous painter, Leonardo da Vinci, was the inspiration for the ‘Mona Lisa’ collection and represented through 30 of his designs for women. As Mona Lisa with her enigmatic smile, left a special feeling with her audience, designer Hoai Nam said he hopes that the ‘Mona Lisa’ collection will also leave a special feeling through the medium of fashion design.
The second collection by Nguyen Cao Bang Tam features a range of architectural styles from Italy’s Leaning Tower of Pisa to the One-Pillar Pagoda in Hanoi. Thirty-five designs bring European style but based on Asian materials, according to designer Bang Tam.
