Vietnamese Ao dai to be shown in France

(Cinet)- Three collections of “ao dai” by Vietnamese designers Minh Hanh, Cong Khanh and Trong Nguyen will be introduced in a fashion show at France’s Chambord Palace on September 07.

French Embassy in collaboration with Vietnamese designers held press conference to announce the event on August 22,  in Hanoi.

The collections are expected to introduce and celebrate the precious materials used in the tailoring of the traditional costume while promoting Vietnamese culture and people to the world.

Titled “Phoenix flying to the sun,” Minh Hanh’s collection will include 60 ao dai made from Vietnamese silk, brocade, handmade linen and lace.

Cong Khanh will bring his special collection to the show, which will reflect the Chanbord’s grandiosity with images on the palace printed on the designs.

Trong Nguyen’s collection is inspired by the paintings, patterns and murals inside the palace, said to be one of ten most beautiful palaces on earth.

Many famous Vietnamese and French models will participate in the event.

The introduction of Vietnamese dresses at the palace will promote Vietnam’s fashion industry to the world.

The palace of Chambord is situated a few kilometres from Blois in Sologne, 177 kilometres south of Paris. It is an architectural masterpiece that has been recognised as a world cultural heritage site by UNESCO.
