Nguyen Hoang Tu represents Vietnam at Asia Fashion contest finale

(Cinet)- Overcoming 418 candidates, Nguyen Hoang Tu of Viet Nam has been chosen as one of 12 finalists in the regional Asian fashion design contest – Audi Star Creation (ASC).

Fashion contest– Audi Star Creation (ASC) is one of the four major events of Asia Fashion Exchange (AFX). The contest attracted 418 candidates from 14 countries and territories in Asia.

Tu, along with the final contestants from Singapore, South Korea, Japan, China, Indonesia and Malaysia, will compete in a Runway Showdown final round at Tent@Orchard, Singapore on May 12.

Tu's collection, named The New Asia, features the strong development of Asia from agriculture, industry, services, entertainment and, particularly, fashion.

With bold cut-outs and 3D design techniques on silk and wool materials, Tu said he would like the designs to illustrate the liberal and out-of-the-ordinary tastes of the Asian people.

Vice President of Singapore Textile and Fashion Federation David Wang said contestants design fashions with inspiration from architecture, culture, history, social trends and even religions from their own countries.

According to Organization  Board, three winners of the contest will receive 10,000 Singapore dollars and a one-year training course by the fashion retailer FJ Benjamin. One of the three winners will get Audi Young Designer Award with additional 10,000 Singapore dollars in cash, stimulating creativity, use of high technology and constant development in the works.
