(Cinet)– Three ao dai collections of the most famous Vietnamese fashion designers - Minh Hanh, Lan Huong and Hung Viet – were introduced at the Paris City Hall, France on November 03 evening.
The fashion show was held on the occasion of the end of the Vietnam-France Year 2013-2014. Top Vietnamese models were seen on the catwalk with the melody of the Vietnamese song "The Pieu Scarf" performed by Tung Duong in the background.
Viet applies modern techniques by copying ethnic designs and printing them on fabric. Hanh uses silver necklaces to set off long dresses made with traditional brocade, much of the material dyed with plant extracts, including woad, while Huong produces her own embroidery using tribal designs.
An exhibition on traditional costumes of ethnic minority groups in Vietnam and a show of brocade Ao Dai war held in Versailles city on November 6.
These collections will be displayed at the Vietnamese Women's Museum in December.
