Ao dai fashion show to celebrate Liberation Day

(Cinet)- As many of 250 Vietnamese Ao Dai by famous designers will be introduced at an Ao Dai fashion show, taking place at the Temple of Literature in Hanoi on October 10 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the capital's Liberation.

The audience will be able to interact with the performing artists and artisans from the villages on the city's outskirts. Craftsmen will display traditional handicraft skills onstage, such as pottery making from Bat Trang Village, paintings from Dong Ho Village and weaving of silk from Van Phuc Village.

Designer, Nguyen Duc Hung, director of the Ao Dai fashion show, said that this is an art space installation and fashion festival to glorify traditional villages in Hanoi over the past year.

Designer Anh Thu will introduce her latest collection of traditional long dress made of Van Phuc silk, which will have decorative patterns such as those on traditional ceramics from Bat Trang Village and the images of beautiful locations in the city.

Models will showcase the designs to the playing of the song Fragrant Ha Noi, composed by Luu Ha An. The catwalk will be designed as a silk production workshop, with people shown to be weaving and drying silk.
