On the evening of September 20, the most expected hair show in the year was held at the Hanoi Opera House, with the theme "Living Jewel."
The show brought together the leading hair stylists in Vietnam like Minh Tam, Tran Hung, Duc Thinh (the first prize winner at the world hairstyling contest 2007), Buu An and 10 contestants.
The show combined demonstrations of new hairstyles, fashion and music. The competitions of hairstylists wee arranged alternately, with 10 minutes for each hair designer (the hair sample had been 80 percent complete before going to stage). The first prize belonged to Nguyen Truong Son, with red dyed short hair.
Truong Son will be Vietnam's representative at the world hairstyling competition held in May 2013 in Paris.
Five years ago, Duc Thinh, the winner of this contest, won the first prize at the international hairstyling competition 2007 in Spain.
The 7-scene show was inspired by Greek mythology. To punish the mankind, Zeus created a beautiful woman named Pandore and sent her to the earth to be Epimethee’s wife. Zeus gave Pandore a box and told her to never open it. The champion of the world hairstylist contest 2007 Duc Thinh and his design
Seeing man live in the dark, Promethee broke Zeus’ rules to give the sacred fire to man. The human are not killed anymore because they have the weapons that only the gods on the Olympia have. But one day when Epimethee was away, Pandore is curious about the box and opened it. And wars, starvation, diseases occur around the world.
When the seeds of evil escape from the box, there is still a seed of hope in the bottom of the box. This seed is also a symbolic reward for the winner of this year's contest, for the purpose of sending hopes for Vietnamese hair designers.
