(Cinet)- Boat race festival, a traditional cultural feature of people in Phan Thiet District, Binh Thuan Province, held annually on the second day of the Lunar New Year, attracts tens of thousands of people.
According to researchers, Boat race originated from the art form of Ba Trao Chèo (Traditional Operetta) – this art form is the combination of the Creed of worshiping Whale and the Creed of worshiping Earth Genie and River Genie.
Boat race festival takes place annually in Binh Thuan on the occasion of welcoming the Lunar New Year. Binh Thuan is also known as the province which provides many boat racers for the national and regional boat racer team. Ca Ty River is the river on which boat race festival is held on the second day of the Lunar New Year.
