The Top 45 list is categorized into include six fields, including Top 5 ancient temples with the oldest education in Viet Nam, Top 10 islands with natural beauty, Top 10 destinations for spiritual tourism, Top 10 sea tourism landscapes, Top 5 ancient villages and Top 5 markets with specific characteristics of three regions. They are follows:
First, Top 5 ancient temples with the oldest education in Vietnam include the Temple of Literature or Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam (Hanoi), Xich Dang (Hung Yen), Mao Dien (Hai Duong), Van Thanh (Thua Thien - Hue) and Tran Bien (Bien Hoa - Dong Nai).

Second, Top 10 islands with natural beauty are Hoang Sa (Da Nang), Truong Sa (Khanh Hoa), Cat Ba (Hai Phong), Bach Long Vi (Hai Phong), Cu Lao Cham (Quang Nam), Ly Son (Quang Ngai), Phu Quy (Binh thuan), Con Dao (Ba Ria - Vung Tau), Phu Quoc (Kien Giang) and Hon Khoai (Ca Mau).
