About Ninh Binh

(Cinet)- Ninh Binh is about 90 km away from Ha Noi to the south. Ninh Binh shares the administative border with Ha Nam in the North, Nam Dinh in the East, the East Sea in the Southeast, Thanh Hoa in the West and Southwest, and Hoa Binh in the Northwest.

Ninh Binh is located to the south of the Northern Delta, between the Red and Ma rivers.The ethnic groups include the Viet (also called Kinh group, the Vietnamese ethnic majority), as well as, Dao, Hoa, Hmong, Muong, Nung, Tay, Thai and others. There are 23 ethnic communities, among which the Kinh account for more than 98%.

Ninh Binh is famous for some cultural and historical relics of Hoa Lu ancient citadel as world cultural heritage and Trang An cave as world natural heritage.
Performing Arts
Ninh Binh province features numerous kinds of folk songs including Cheo (traditional opera) and Xam (an ancient folk art form performed by blind beggars) singing.Xam singing, a Vietnamese form of art aged centuries, has always been preserved as the nation’s delicate piece of culture to be admired by numerous tourists. “Hat Xam” or “Xam singing” has been mainly found in the countryside, and, expressed the optimism and love for life of the blind.
