(Cinet)- Long An province situated in the Mekong Delta and in the main areas of the Southest economic development. It is the largest centre of production and consumption of goods. Long An has enough conditions to develop its economy.
 
Long An borders Ho Chi Minh city and Tay Ninh province in the East, Campuchia in the North, Dong Thap in the West and Tien Giang in the South. The province covers an area of 4.491 square kilometres, and its population was 1.449.600 peoples (according to statistic in 2011).

Cultural Heritage
The most important cultural value of Long An is Oc- Eo culture which was formed and developed in the Mekong Delta from the first century to the sixth century AD. Nearly 20 prehistoric monuments and 100 cultural relics belonging to Oc Eo culture were discovered with 12,000 collected artifacts.
Long An has 90 ranked monuments, including 17 national monuments and 73 provincial ones. Some typical relics are Binh Ta ancient An Son architecture (Duc Hoa), Co Son Tu pagoda, Go O Chua site (Vinh Hung); Hundred Column House Vestige, Ton Thanh pagoda, Phuoc Lam pagoda, Nguyen Huynh Duc tomb; Vam Nhut Tao historic site, Ong Ban Quy shrine; provincial historic revolutionary relics, Ba Vu mangrove forest.
Performing Arts
Long An is famous for various types of performing arts such as Don ca tai tu - dilettante singing and music performance (contributes to creating, preserving and promoting values of this kind of Southest traidional music), reformed theatre, old chanties.
Destination
Long An has many special festivals such as the Ky Yen Festival, rainmaking ceremony, Tong Phong festival with traditional games like racing boats, tug of war, wrestling. All of them probably attract more tourists. The traditional handicraft villages such as wood carving (Can Duoc, Ben Luc), jewelery making (Phuoc Van), ship building (Can Duoc)...are also main sources for tourism. These important tourism sources are of great significance to the exploring and planning process to develop the tourism of the province.
Lang Sen mangrove forest (Tan Hung) is ideal for river tours in an area of over 2,000 ha. Long An has rich potential for diverse tourism development. In addition to Dong Thap Muoi ecotourism site, it also owns Noi Pagoda (Vinh Hung district), Ton Thanh Pagoda, hundred column house, Rach Cat Military Post (Can Duoc District), Vam Nhut Tao historic relic (Tan Tru district), tomb of Nguyen Huynh Duc (Tan An city).
In Long An, there are special dishes such as sour fish soup, grilled snakehead, fish sauce hot pot, Nang Thom rice in Dao market, Go Den wine, Long Tri watermelon, Duc Hoa peanuts, Thu Thua sugarcane, Chau Thanh blue dragon...ect. Each specialty characteristic of the land and local people is also a major factor to attract all tourists.
