About Da Nang

(Cinet)- Da Nang is located in South Central Coast of Vietnam and is a major economic, cultural, euducational, scientific and technological center of Central Highlands.
 
Da Nang borders Thua Thien Hue province in the North, Quang Nam  in the West and South , East sea in the East . The province covers an area 1.285,4 square kilometres, and its population was 951.700 peoples (according to statistic in 2011).

Da Nang is situtated in Quang Nam where the ancient people of Sa Huynh culture settled thousands of years ago with a wet rice civilization and the famous mulberry.
When Champa Kingdom began its existance, the land belonged to the state of Amaravati. The vestiges of Champa Kingdom got a strong expression through many relics such as religious temples, remains of the Cham towels, Cham ancient wells, ect.
Da Nang also has traditional villages such as Non Nuoc stone carving village; Cam Ne Sedge Mat village; Nam O fish sause village, ect.

Performing Arts
Da Nang has the art forms of traditional theater such as classical drama, reformed theatre, contemporary art forms including dance, ballet, opera, symphony...ect. The classical drama is typical.
Destination
Da Nang is a city with great potentials for tourism development. The North of the city is surrounded by high mountains with the Hai Van Pass famous as “the most important landscape". Ba Na resort in the West at the height of over 1,000 meters is equipped with a cable system to reach four world records and amusement parks in Southeast Asia’s largest Fantasy Park. 

Son Tra peninsula in the Northeast of the city has 400 ha of primary forest including rich flora and fauna. The Southeast of the city is a spectacular landscape, Ngu Hanh Son. In the city, there is a system of temples, pagodas, shrines with oriental architecture, churches with western architecture. The city owns many museums of which Museum of Cham Sculpture is the most charateristic to exhibit Cham artifacts at the largest scale in Vietnam.
