(Cinet)- Ben Tre  is a province of Vietnam. It is one of the country's southern provinces, being situated in the Mekong Delta. The province is divided into one separate municipality Ben Tre and 8 districts included 164 communes. Ben Tre covers an area of  2,360.6 square kilometers and it had a population of 1,257,800 people. The province is home to some ethnic groups, including the Vietnamese group, Tay, Chinese and Kh’mer group.
Cultural and Tourism Resources
Historical Vestiges

In terms of cultural and tourism resources, Ben Tre owned plentiful of  Buddhist relics and The famous person’s tomb. Some of them are  Hoi Ton, Tuyen Linh, Vien Minh Pagoda, etc. Hoi Ton Pagoda was build by Long Thien Buddist Priest in 18 th century in Hamlet N0.8, Quai Son ward, Chau Thanh district. The pagoda has been restored many times in the some years 1805,1884,1947 and 1992. Tuyen Linh was constructed in 1861 in Mo Cay district. Vien Minh Pagoda located in Nguyen Dinh Chieu Streets, Ben Tre separate municipality , was one of the most beautiful architecture pagodas.
Festivals
Apart from national and international holidays, Ben Tre has some local festivals. Briefly, there are two most interested festivals, namely the Nghinh Ong Festival, the Phu Le Communal Festival , each has its own social and historical significance to the public life in Ben Tre.
Coconut Festival has been enlarged its scale up to a national event
The most notable of all is the Nghinh Ong (Dolphin Greeting) Festival, which takes place on 15th and 16th days of the Sixth Lunar month in Binh Thang Commune, Binh Dai District. The second is the Phu Le Communal Festival on 18 and 19 th days of the Eleventh Lunar month. This holiday is held in Phu LeCommune, Ba Tri District. Nghinh Ong Festival -  the largest festival in Ben Tre. Its significance is for the local fishermen to worship and celebrate the sacred merit of the Dolphin they regard as "Ong"- their rescuer and saviour whenever they face with mishaps and adversities on the high sea.
Exclusively, Ben Tre is very well-known as the land of coconut. With the coverage of more than 40,000 hectares, and a wide range of coconut species, Ben Tre is considered to have the largest coconut coverage in the country. Coconut is the main materials to produce coconut candy (or keo dua) - Ben Tre's longtime best known specialty. Then there are other well-tasted products, too, such as My Long rice cake, Son Doc shrimp cake. By now, Coconut Festival has been taken place 3 times on 2009, 2010, 2012  and enlarged its scale up to a national event.

Tourist business in Ben Tre has been better developed, helping to draw more and more domestic as well as foreign tourists to come over to the land. With diverse potentials for eco-tourism, Ben Tre has been increasingly becoming a destination for international tourists. Some famous location widespread popularly are Phung Sand- bank, Oc Sand- bank, Tien Sand-bank and Vam Ho bird Ground. Phung Sand- bank located in an up-isle in the center of Tien River, belonging to  tan Thach ward, Chau Thanh district. This sand-bank owned the relics of  Coconut island as well as some unique architectural monuments. Besides, Vam Ho is home to 500,000 stork, night-stork and wild animal species. Moreover, Ben Tre has enormous and diverse waterways locations and fruit gardens fascinated visitors come to experience it.
