An exhibition entitled Viet Nam – Its People and Landscapes recently opened in the capital city, showcasing the work of three female painters.
The first installment of a three-part collection of works by noted poet Pham Tien Duat-famed for his poems depicting the hard lives and heroic feats of Vietnamese soldiers on the legendary Truong Son Trail (known to the Americans as the Ho Chi Minh Trail) during American War-has been released.
An exhibition themed “The cultural space of the gong in the community of Vietnamese nations” is being held at the Dak Lak Province’s Cultural Museum of Vietnamese Nations to welcome the 2007 Central Highland Gong Culture Festival.
One rainy night in Saigon 20 odd years ago, local guitarist, Doan Du, surprised customers at a HCMC restaurant when he held an electric guitar up to his face and played an entire Vietnamese song with his teeth.
