Delegates visit the 2023 Youth Photography Festival exhibition
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong signed and issued Decision No. 762/QD-BVHTTDL on organizing the Youth Photography Festival in 2025.
Accordingly, participants in the 2025 Young Photography Festival are Vietnamese citizens from 18 to 35 years old (including Vietnamese people living and working abroad) who can submit works in 02 categories: Realistic photos and conceptual photos.
Specifically, the realism photography category with the theme "The era of national rise", the content of the works reflects contemporary life, people, culture, landscapes, nature, the construction and protection of the Fatherland of Vietnam. The Organizing Committee especially encourages works on the theme of Vietnam rising up, developing, works created in the last 2 years.
The concept photography category has the theme "Freedom", the content of the work includes issues that young people are interested in; thoughts, opinions, ideas about life... and other content that focuses on the values of truth, goodness, and beauty.
From the submitted works, the Organizing Committee selected 160 works to organize the exhibition, of which 17 best works were awarded, with the following structure: 02 Gold Medals, 03 Silver Medals, 05 Bronze Medals and 07 Encouragement Prizes.
The launching ceremony of the 2025 Youth Photography Festival is expected to take place in early April 2025; Opening and award ceremony at the end of August 2025 in Hanoi capital.
The Young Photography Festival is held every two years to encourage the development of young photographers, promote creative activities, and publish works reflecting contemporary life through the lens of young Vietnamese photographers. This is also an opportunity for young photography enthusiasts across the country to exchange, learn, meet, introduce creative achievements, and supplement the next generation of Vietnamese photography.
The Festival also contributes to introducing and promoting the image of the country and Vietnamese people to domestic and international audiences; at the same time, encouraging the interest, connection, and participation of young people in the art of photography in particular and social issues in general. Through the Festival, the management agency and the photography industry have an overview and correctly assess the current situation of young photographers and the issues of photo creation among young people in the recent past. From there, find the right direction for young photography enthusiasts in the period of international integration.
