129BPM, a contemporary local hip hop performance, will make its debut at George Town Festival 2025, Asia’s leading arts event, set to take place in Malaysia from August 4 to 5.

Choreographed by Vietnamese–French artist Bui Ngoc Quan, the performance blends street dance with elements of traditional Vietnamese folk music.

It marks the first Vietnamese production ever introduced at the festival, and also signals Bui Ngoc Quan’s long-awaited Southeast Asian debut, following a 25-year career with the renowned Belgian company Les Ballets C de la B.

129BPM was originally co-produced by H2Q Dance Company and the Goethe-Institut Ho Chi Minh City in 2024. The upcoming performance at George Town Festival 2025 will be managed by MORUA Co. Ltd, with travel sponsorship provided by AirAsia.
