Special art programme marks capital’s Liberation Day

A special art programme, entitled ‘Thu Ha Noi’ (Hanoi’s Autumn), was held by Hanoi Television and Radio (HTV) on October 8 as part of the activities to mark the 65th anniversary of the Capital’s Liberation Day (October 10, 1954-2019).

The event was attended by Politburo member and Secretary of Hanoi Municipal Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai, among other leaders of the capital city.

Speaking at the programme, Chairman of Hanoi Journalists’ Association and General Director – Editor-in-Chief of the HTV To Quang Phan emphasised that the Liberation Day in 1954 was a bright milestone opening a new page in the city’s history.

Over the past 65 years, Hanoi has developed constantly and gained comprehensive achievements, becoming a political, cultural and scientific centre in the country, he added.

The art programme featured numerous famous songs and videoshighlighting the beauty of the capital city as well as the arduousand heroic years during the resistance war for national independence.

Audiences had the chance to enjoy the beautiful voices of well-known singers including My Linh, Trong Tan, Khanh Linh, Tan Minh, Pham Thu Ha, and the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet.

An exchange programme entitled ‘Memory of the return day’also took place at the Hoa Lo Prison relic on the same day.

Historical witnesses recalled many touching stories about the capital’s Liberation Day 65 years ago.

In addition, an exhibition, themed ‘The Diary of Peace’, introduced people and visitors to photos and documents featuring the struggle for independence and conveying the city’s message for peace.
