The film by British director Paul Zetters and sponsored by the British Embassy in Vietnam and the Ensemble company tells a story about a dance troupe of choreographer Le Vu Long, his wife – dancer Thu Lan – and ten deaf dancers in five big cities of Vietnam in 2005, Hanoi, HCM City, Da Nang, Da Lat and Hai Phong.
Destination dance troupe also gave performances in other provinces and cities in Vietnam and in the US in 2006-2007 and the troupe was introduced on national Vietnam Television and on the air in Singapore, the US and the Philippines.
This December the film will be introduced in Britain on the occasion of the week for community development activities in Vietnam through arts.
The film festival about the deaf in Holland this year is the second of its kind so far. Films on the deaf and films produced by the deaf are both presented.
This year the festival will announce the results of research on the image of the deaf in feature films.
