(Cinet)- After the standing Board Meeting on the preparatory work for the first Asian Indoor Games III (occurred after when the Government had approved a projection on hosting the Asian Indoor Games III in Vietnam), Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism directed General Department of Gyms and Sports, some Departments, and relevant Units to carry out the preparatory work for the Festival.
After an effective and positive working week, many works have been completed, for example making a Decisive draft for the Asian Indoor Games III and another Decisive draft for working procedures of the Organizing Board of the Asian Indoor Games III.
For over 16 months, the Asian Indoor Games III will be officially held (specifically in October 2009), the time for the preparatory work isn’t now a wondering or worrying thing of the whole participants in the meeting. All specific works in every field haven’t been yet implemented.
Nevertheless, based on practical situation assessment, the Standing Board agreed that it is necessary to conduct the works after when a detailed plan has been made to ensure the progress and efficiency of the preparatory work.
Two domains appreciated importantly and difficultly include marketing and information technology. In June 2008, the Vietnam Olympic Committee is expected to sign a contract with the Asian Olympic Council on marketing.
After all the participants had delivered their speeches, Standing Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Chief of General Department of Gyms and Sports – Nguyen Danh Thai suggested that relevant participants should positively coordinate with Ministries and Industries in proceeding the establishment of sub-committees to put into operation promptly, simultaneously developing detailed working plans, staff and time distribution to ensure the progress and efficiency of the preparatory work.
With regard to some sports Vietnam doesn’t join and hasn’t been yet held, the Deputy Minister ordered that relevant units should contact with the National Federation of all countries to appeal to much assistance and help Vietnam prepare for professional skills, equipment and infrastructure. Organizing sports successfully is not only to conduct integration trend when Vietnam becomes a member of the WTO but also to make a positive contribution to strengthening solidarity and friendship with neighboring countries. This also complies with opinions of the Party and Government in holding the Asian Indoor Games III. Being a host, Vietnam limits to holding undeveloped sports not only because of the achievements of Vietnam Sports Delegation.
