Indochina through the eyes of an Australian artist

November 16, 2007          1994 views

Australian artist Kristine McCarroll will bring a number of her unique paintings to Vietnam for a Hanoi exhibition in late November and early December.

Her collection, entitled “Colonial Days of the Past,” is a gift she wants to offer Vietnamese people out of respect.

McCarroll's oil paintings draw on a style popular during the Renaissance period.

She selects interesting features of Vietnamese culture in earlier days, and depicts them with sincerity, a sense of humor and great respect.

McCarroll's work will be on display from tomorrow to December 7 at the Art Vietnam Gallery, 7 Nguyen Khac Nhu Street, Hanoi.
