Days of Russian Language Kicks off in Ha Noi.

“Days of the Russian Language”, part of the event “Year of the Russian Language” being held in Russia and abroad, began in Ha Noi yesterday at the Russian Center of Science and Culture.

To run for four days, the Ha Noi event will feature exhibitions on Russian textbooks, universities, scientific and technological achievements, and seminars on Russian teaching methods in the globalization context, among others.

At the opening ceremony, Russian Ambassador Vadim Serafimo presented the honoured badge “Asian and African Star” to Nguyen Thi Binh, former Vice State President and President of the Viet Nam Fund for Peace and Development, and nine insignias to President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organisations Vu Xuan Hong and officials from the Asian-African-Latin American Solidarity and Cooperation Committee and the Viet Nam-Russia Friendship Organization.

Lavrenev A. IU, director of the Russian Center of Science and Culture, expressed his hopes that the “Days of the Russian Language” in Viet Nam will attract public interests and foster their love for Russian .

In Russia, 2007 has been announced as the “Year of the Russian language” by President V.Putin. Sources TT
