Major Forum for the World Tourist Cities

(Cinet)- On behalf of Vietnam, Director of Hanoi Tourist Department has recently led a Delegation to join the Major Forum for the World Tourist Cities in Trinh Chau City, Ha Nam Province, China. The Forum lasted from 9th to 13th April 2008.

The Forum held a seminar with the participation of 222 cities, namely Majors and Deputy Majors from such various countries as Canada, America, Australia, Germany, Spain...Besides, attending the Forum also included Secretary of Ha Nam Province – China cum Vice Chairman of the PATA, Michael Yate – Assistant of General Secretary of the UNWTO; correspondents and press agencies from China and some other cities...

During the discussion period of the Seminar, cities shared much experience together on certain aspects in the tourist industry, for example climatic change and  a number of solutions minimizing the weather’s negative impacts on tourist activities, tourist development associated with culture, tourism and urgent feedback system; measures enhancing each city’s image, promoting and marketing destinations...

Afterwards, the host city, Trinh Chau-Ha Nam provincial Authority organized a survey program for the Delegation to visit several famous tourist destinations of Trinh Chau and other cities in Ha Nam City aimed at inquiring management experience; organizing tours, architects and infrastructure for its neighboring’ s tourism such as Long Mon cave – the World Cultural Heritage, Khai Phong Palace, Thieu Lam Tu Pagoda, National Flower Garden...Tourist destinations there are well-known for magnificent architect, clean environment under the strict management of the Government, and the people’s high discipline.

Indeed, it is a good chance for many countries to learn and share experience for tourist development.
