On the afternoon of April 3, at the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace, a ceremony was held to receive artifacts respecfully donated by the family of Mr. Pham Van Cong.
At the ceremony, the representative of Mr. Pham Van Cong's family presented 2 sets of original artifacts: a set of tables and chairs and a tea set used to welcome President Ho Chi Minh to visit the family on New Year's Eve of the Year of the Cat (1963), 2 precious photos recording the moment when Uncle Ho visited the family and 20 photo files about the patriotic activities of overseas Vietnamese in the New World towards beloved Uncle Ho. These are artifacts and documents that have been kept by the family for over 60 years.

President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace received artifacts respectfully donated by Mr. Pham Van Cong's family.

Director of the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace and representative of Mr. Pham Van Cong's family signed the minutes of handover of artifacts.
According to the family, on New Year's Eve of the Year of the Cat (January 24, 1963), while the whole family was busy preparing to welcome the New Year, President Ho Chi Minh suddenly appeared at the small house at 97 Dai La, Hanoi - the residence of Mr. Pham Van Cong and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Quyen, a Vietnamese family who had just returned from the New World.
In the warm light of the spring night, Uncle asked about the preparation for Tet, banh chung, the children, then gave advice about life, raising children, and the situation of overseas Vietnamese after returning to their homeland. Uncle gently pulled a small wooden chair to sit down next to his son's desk, chatting intimately like a family member. The story is a true testament to the deep heart that Uncle always had for the people, especially overseas Vietnamese.

Mr. Pham Van Duc (son of Mr. Pham Van Cong) represented the family to speak at the ceremony.
Each chair, each teacup, each photo is now not simply an artifact but a testament to a rare moment - when the President spent the entire New Year’s Eve visiting the people. It is also the most genuine and intimate expression of the immense heart that Uncle Ho always had for overseas Vietnamese - those who once lived far from the Fatherland but whose hearts have never left the motherland.
The reception of these special artifacts not only enriches the source of valuable artifacts and documents at the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace but is also a true testament to the deep and loyal affection that overseas Vietnamese have for Uncle Ho and the Fatherland as well as Uncle Ho's deep concern for generations of overseas Vietnamese. These artifacts will be preserved, conserved and promoted by the Relic Site in a solemn manner, worthy of the historical and spiritual values that the artifacts carry.
