The event will entertain cinema-goers with four excellent feature films produced or co-produced by French-speaking Belgian directors in 2018 and 2019.

The films include ‘Lola vers la mer’ (Lola), a film based on an 18-year-old transgender girl struggling to reconcile with her estranged father after her mother’s death; ‘Troisiemes noces’ (Third Wedding), which tells the story of a widowed 50-year-old gay man in Brussels enters into a marriage of convenience with a younger Congolese immigrant; ‘Pour vivre heureux’ (For A Happy Life), a romance on a secret love story of a young couple without support of their families; and ‘Nuestras Madres’ (Our Mothers), a drama following the journey of a forensic anthropologist in Guatemala investigating the disappearance of his father - a guerrilla fighter who went missing in the 1980s.

The film week is expected to provide Vietnamese audiences with fresh experiences of the culture, customs, and colourful life of the French-speaking community through the language of cinematography.

The event is open to the public at the National Documentary and Scientific Film Studio, 465 Hoang Hoa Tham street, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi.
